Hello everyone,
We have completed our second attempt at breeding Manuk and Nana in mid-December 2020 (first attempt was unsuccessful mid-May 2020. All of us, people and dogs are ‘newbies’ at this breeding experience). This time around, natural breeding was unsuccessful so we did two artificial insemination procedures. We have our pregnancy…[Read more]

First Swiss Chinooks Litter (second breeding attempt!)
Hello everyone,
We bred Manuk and Nana but the natural mating didn’t work so we did two artificial insemination procedures (AI). The last one was done Monday 14 December 2020. We have made an appointment with Nana’s vet to have a pregnancy diagnosis consultation on Wednesday 06 January 2021.…[Read more]

Hi Penthea,
Thanks for caring 🙂 This is the message I posted on another discussion forum “Swiss Cheese”:
Hello all interested in our Swiss Cheese Litter!
Swiss Chinooks 1st litter planned for mid-November 2020! An ultrasound (24 June 2020) showed that our Nana is not pregnant. Naturally after all our efforts this is not the result we were…[Read more]

I would love to write an article for the Chinook Quarterly about our struggles in trying to establish a kennel and breeding our Chinooks in Switzerland (maybe the first in Europe? No idea, guess so?). Well, this first attempt in May 2020 was unsuccessful. It’s been very difficult to get support locally (vets, specialists on reproduction of dogs,…[Read more]

Yes, Nuka and Eya are in Geneva. We met up with them before getting Manuk 6 years ago. We met up again (covered in the Chinook Quarterly page 3 Fall 2016 issue). I know there’s Manuk’s litter mate brother, Neo who lives 3.5 hours away in Germany near the border with Austria and Switzerland (We visited him and his family when Manuk was 6 or 7…[Read more]

Swiss Chinooks 1st litter planned for mid-November 2020! An ultrasound (24 June 2020) showed that our Nana is not pregnant. Hello everyone,
Hope you are all well and content under the present pandemic circumstances. We are doing well at Swiss Chinooks. This is an update on our planned breeding happening hopefully end of May 2020 in Switzerland. Both our dogs have completed their medical tests and although I have yet to receive their OFA certificates, both dogs (Manuk…[Read more]

Don’t mean to toot my own horn (not much to toot about really) but we ARE planning our first Chinook breeding in May 2020. Not sure if there are any Chinook breeders outside the US at all but if not, we’re almost sure we’re the only ones in Switzerland if not Europe (not sure about this though since there’s very little communication between…[Read more]

Hi Carie,
Sorry for the 2 year delay in replying. It’s been a long, personal journey since your response. I tried contacting Elza via the email you provided back then for the last year or so but I have not had one reply from her. I wonder if my emails just landed in her spam mail because she doesn’t know I exist. Any chance of you letting her…[Read more]

Hello everyone,
I have just upgraded my membership status to breeder membership in the hope that I might get some support with my first planned Chinook breeding coming up and hopefully happening this May 2020. Both my dogs have been OFA hip/elbow approved (certificates are posted on my breeder website for both Manuk and Nana). I have yet to redo…[Read more]

Hello everyone,
I have never posted a title or a message in a forum so apologies for the test if this is inappropriate. I am from Switzerland and live there with my husband and two Chinook dogs (Manuk and Nana). I am attempting to start linking Chinook owners, living in Europe, who are members of the COA together to hopefully start socialising…[Read more]
