Frostline Chinooks
| Kennel Description | Frostline Chinooks is a hobby conservation kennel dedicated to helping preserve the rare Chinook. Developed in early 20th-century New Hampshire as a versatile working dog, the breed later declined to critically low numbers. Known for its excellent temperament (soft, willing, people-oriented, and typically friendly with other dogs), we plan one carefully managed litter focused on health, temperament, and thoughtful placement so each puppy can help carry the breed forward. |

Rainbow is a beautiful, healthy, happy Chinook who thinks every trail, lake, and dog park is a party with her name on the invite. She hikes, skijors, swims, trains, and has logged over 1,000 dog-park visits without a single fight. She greets dogs and people like they’re already friends—calm, kind, and somehow able to charm even the grumpy ones. She’s the sidekick who makes her people look like pros. On a narrow trail, point to a safe spot when a bike rolls up and she trots over and sits like it was her idea. Cyclists say “What a well-trained dog!” She figured that out herself. Classic Chinook: willing, soft, and bright enough to turn a cue into a game she’s already winning. Eddie carries the Intervale line in a big red coat and 27-inch frame built for work. Raised on a 46-acre ranch, he walks cattle and sheep on long circuits that suit a Chinook’s stamina and keeps his head. He free-ranges among the chickens without trouble, showing the willing, soft impulse control the breed is known for. Indoors the switch flips. He’s a people-first daddy’s boy, content once the job is done, happy by the woodstove, and even shares the warm spot with the family cat. This is the stud side of the pairing: Excellent hips, a clean genetic panel, ranch-bred structural strength, and the gentle, trustworthy disposition Chinooks were selected for. |
