1.345	271	TBD	BARKERVILLE HARRIET BLUE	FERNCROFT TORMUND EVAN	Barkerville Chinooks is pleased to announce the breeding of Barkerville Harriet Blue with Ferncroft Tormund Evan. If pregnant, puppies will be due in early May and ready for placement in early July. Blue is a 2nd generation cross (Chinook x Tamaskan) cross in the Chinook Breed Conservation Program. When bred with a purebred Chinook the offspring will be considered UKC purebred Chinooks. Blue is a friendly Chinook and happily greets most visitors when they walk in the door with lots of tail wags, grins, and licks. She is naturally curious about people and places. When she is stand offish, it is around people who approach with fast and overly enthusiastic friendliness. She prefers cheek rubs and butt scratches to ear scratches. She loves hiking and will happily spend the day on the trail, unafraid of wild game - bears included. She loves to cuddle up and nap with you on the sofa, but also likes her own time. Blue has a broad chest, a strong rear, and nice balance. She is 24” tall and weighs 65 lbs. Her hips received a rating of excellent from OFA, along with a normal eye exam. Tormund is a purebred Chinook. He is a most friendly dog, wanting to check everyone out and meet everybody. He's never met a person or dog he didn't like. He's curious and mild mannered. He loves hiking and leading on the trail. But if his people stop walking, he comes back quickly to see why. He enjoys meeting people and other dogs on the trail but continues on with his people if the others are not hiking along with them. Tormund has big paws, heavy bone, and a solid body. He has a smooth gait. He is 25.5 inches tall and weighs 65 lbs. His hips were rated good by OFA along with a normal eye exam. Both dogs are clear of MRD1, CDDY/IVDD, dwarfism.
