| Kennel Description | MountainThunder Chinooks is located in Ft. Collins, CO. Our "kennel" is our home, as we are hobby breeders trying to help contribute to the preservation of the Chinook breed. Our goal is to breed for the elements that make a good working dog - health, temperament, structure and movement. MountainThunder believes a Chinook should be judged in terms of working ability vs. uniform ear sets and coat color. |

Penny is a stunning purebred Chinook, exhibiting lovey movement and balance, as well as the preferred Chinook markings. We have had our eye on Coulee since he was a wee puppy, and especially since he represented the breed at Westminster in 2024. Coulee actually descends on his dam's side from our Scarlet's littermate Kyra (Long Strange Trip Litter - 2010.) Kyra went on to become the foundation bitch for Desert Sol Chinooks. So, it's a nostalgic and very special last litter for us. Embark predicts pups to all be tawny or dilute tawny. The litter will be dual registered with AKC/UKC. Both dogs have clear Embark panels for dwarfism, MDR1 and IVDD. We feel Coulee is the perfect Chinook boy to complement Penny, and we can't wait to see these babies!
