Our "kennel" is our home, as we are hobby breeders trying to help contribute to the preservation of the Chinook breed. Rain Mountain (and Rain Mountain North) Chinooks and Enatai Chinook Crosses | Thirty-five years of breeding and more than 8 generations of Champions. Powerful, Healthy & Sweet for Pet, Show & Pulling. We have many dual titled (conformation and performance) and add more each year. Rain Mountain, founded in 1988, is the oldest still-active Chinook breeder in the world. - - - We may live out in the country, but we only have as many Chinooks as can sleep on the bedroom floor and fit in the car for frequent rides to anywhere. Every dog here is trained at least in basics, if not more -- no kennel dogs! Litters are planned long in advance with careful analysis of pedigrees and the health of the litter. Feel free to contact us for questions about the breed at any time (email preferred) or for visits to meet Chinooks "in the fur." Current events are on our "Rain Mountain Chinooks" Facebook page so check it out for activities and announcements. - - - Along with Tom and Marilynn Nenninger of Terrace, British Columbia (Rain Mountain North), we have sponsored a line of Chinooks crossed with an exceptional Seppala Siberian. "Scout" is registered with the Canadian Kennel Club as a purebred Siberian going back to the teams of Leonard Seppala that powered the Alaska Serum Run to Nome, Alaska in 1925. The initial first generation included 18 pups from two litters sired by Scout and out of Rain Mountain Toutle Endurance, aka "Nika". We are now producing the first of the next generation with breedings of the Enatai Chukchi line with a breeding of Enatai Chukchi Falcon's Flight (Farco) and Rain Mountain Umiak. Other second generation breedings will happen over the next few years. The Chinook "look" and personality are very dominant in these dogs so please consider an Enatai Chukchi Chinook Cross for your next pet. (The Enatai Chukchi cross line is bred under the auspices of the Chinook Owners Association Chinook Breed Conservation Program.) | http://www.rainmountain.net | info@rainmountain.net | WA | Yes | |
